How do I set up the 3G mobile network connection?
Here is a brief list of steps. You can read the details for each of these steps on this page.
- Buy a "TELSTRA PRE-PAID SIM STARTER KIT FOR TABLETS" - it must be with Telstra and it must be a data SIM. Keep the packaging.
- Activate the SIM with Telstra (either via the Telstra web page for activating SIM cards - choose the "Pre-paid" option - or by phoning Telstra on 132200]. You will need Australian ID and the service number located on your pre-paid packaging.
- Add funds to your new pre-paid account (either via the Telstra web page for recharging your pre-paid account or by purchasing a top-up from a retail outlet.
- Put the SIM in the camera.
- Download and run the UOVision setup tool on a Windows computer to define your mobile settings. The tool will create a file named profile.bin.
- Copy the profile.bin file from the setup tool onto your SD card (not your SIM card).
- Put the SIM card into the camera and turn it on.
- Wait for the camera to apply the settings from the SD card.
- Continue waiting while the camera establishes a network connection.
Your camera will then be ready to send to the 3G mobile network per the configuration you defined using the setup tool.
